WBDA Night at Wayne High

Come Cheer on the Blue Devils!

 

Put Friday, January 20th on your calendar as WBDA Night!  Wayne High Basketball will be playing Hartington Cedar Catholic in 4 games.  The evening will start with the JV Girls game at 4:15 at the High School and the JV Boys game at 4:15 at the Elementary School.  Following the JV games the Girls Varsity game will start at 6:15, followed by the Boys Varsity game at 8:00 at the High School.

 

All WBDA players are encouraged to attend the game because Wayne High will be allowing FREE admission to all players who wear their WBDA shooting shirts.  So be sure to come to the game on January 20 and support the Blue Devils!

 

A special thanks goes out to Wayne High and Athletic Director, Rocky Ruhl, for making this a special night for WBDA players.

7th Grade Girls Place 1st in North Bend Tournament

Saturday, January 7th the 7th Grade WBDA Girls competed in a tournament in North Bend, NE.  The team started out pushing the ball and applying pressure to beat Logan View 33-4.  The Championship Game vs North Bend was a hard fought game down to the final seconds with Wayne coming out with the win, 28-26.  It was a great first tournament for the 7th Grade Girls!  Congratulations Players and Coaches on the 1st Place Finish!  #wayneyouthbasketball

Breakthrough Basketball is Coming to Wayne!

The WBDA is excited to Welcome Breakthrough Basketball to Wayne, America!

 

Breakthrough Basketball conducts quality, high-intensity, drill based camps that focus on not only bettering a players skill set on the court but also building character and confidence off the court. Their camps will strengthen your athletes mentality while boosting their confidence to become more aggressive and skilled players. Camps will provide a focused, fun learning environment that cannot be rivaled.

 

Their primary objective is two fold…

  • Provide you with comprehensive resources and virtually everything you need when it comes to basketball.
  • Make a positive impact on players’ lives either directly or by educating coaches and parents around the world.

 

They are coming to Wayne for Two Basketball Camps this summer!

 

These camps will be a great opportunity for all players in the area to receive top level instruction from select coaches.  Wayne will be one of over 100 nationwide locations Breakthrough Basketball hosts camps in 2017.  Don’t miss out on these outstanding opportunities!

7th Grade Boys Place 2nd in Remsen, IA

Saturday, December 3rd the 7th Grade WBDA Boys competed in a tournament in Remsen, IA.  The team played with heart and competed hard going 2-1 for the day beating Dakota Valley 36-18 and Sioux City West 48-41 and loosing to Remsen 45-26.  The Wayne team placed 2nd in the tournament.  Congratulations Players and Coaches!  #wayneyouthbasketball

7th Grade Boys Place 1st in SSC

Saturday the 7th Grade Boys team played in the Tri-State Challenge Basketball Tournament in South Sioux City, NE.  They went 3-0 for the day beating Heelan 39-20, South Sioux City 45-31, and the South Sioux City Sixers 56-39.  The 7th Grade team placed 1st in the tournament.  Congratulations Players and Coaches!  #wayneyouthbasketball

Wayne Youth Basketball Tournament – 2017

The 2017 Wayne Youth Basketball Tournament – Clash of the Plains – is coming February 18th & 19th.  We are accepting team registrations with a registration deadline of February 6th.  Visit our Tournament page for more details.

2016/2017 WBDA Player Sign-Up

Player sign-up will begin this month.  The dates will be as follows:

  • November 21> 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
  • November 22> 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
  • December 3 > 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • December 10 > 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

All sign-ups will be held at the Community Activity Center.

2016 Girls Camp with Hastings College

Summer Camp Time in Wayne America!

July 18th, Women’s Head Basketball Coach Lindsay McLaughlin and the WBDA welcomed Hastings College Head Coach Jina Johansen for a 1-Day Basketball Camp.  Several future Lady Blue Devils spent time with Coach Johansen and the Wayne Coaches developing their game.
