The Wayne 8th grade girls WBDA basketball team competed in the Midwest Invitational Tournament on March 9th and 10th, 2024.
Wayne competed in a four-team, round-robin tournament along with Omaha AEF, Walthill and Pierce.
Wayne opened tournament play with a tough 35-31 loss to Omaha AEF on the first day of competition. On day #2, Wayne rebounded with a 22-18 win over Walthill and closed with a 34-27 win over Pierce to finish 2-1 in tournament play. Wayne ended in a three-way tie for top honors and won the tie-breaker criteria to be crowned champions of their division.
