Sunday, February 19th, the 7th Grade WBDA Girls competed in the Wayne Youth Basketball Tournament. The 7th grade division included two pools of teams. The blue pool included Pender, Wayne and Elkhorn Valley and the red pool included Norfolk Catholic, Hartington Cedar and David City. Wayne finished as the top seed of the blue pool beating Pender 23-14 and Elkhorn Valley 29-9. In the red pool, Norfolk Catholic came out as the top seed. Wayne and Norfolk Catholic met in the Championship game. Wayne led at half time 10-6, but could not hold off Norfolk Catholic eventually losing 24-15 to take 2nd place in the tournament.
