7th Grade Boys Finish with 2nd Place in Wayne the Tournament

The 7th grade boys were placed in a 6 team round robin division at Wayne Youth Basketball Tournament.  Wayne came out of their side of the division defeating Tekamah Herman and O’Neill.  They lost to Hartington Cedar in the Championship game and finished with 2nd place.  Congrats Players and Coaches.

4th Grade Girls Earn First Place in Wisner

4th grade girls ended their season by winning the Wisner Tournament.  They defeated Howells-Dodge and Pender in pool play and then defeated Norfolk Catholic for the championship.  The girls end their season having won two tournaments (Wisner, Norfolk Y) and also won the Norfolk Y League.  The girls finished the year 14-4.

8th Grade Boys White Team Finishes 1st in Wisner

8th grade boys White Team won their division at the Wisner Tournament. They played in a five-team bracket and went 3-1 with wins over Emerson/Allen, Stanton and Wisner-Pilger.  Wayne fell by six to Pender, but the record was still good enough to claim first place.

8th Grade Boys Blue Team Finishes 3rd in David City

The 8th Grade boys Wayne Blue team placed 3rd in the Gold Bracket of the David City Tournament yesterday.  Wayne Blue finished 2-1.

Opened the day in pool play with a 58-44 loss to eventual champion Seward, then defeated Immanuel Lutheran (Columbus) 38-33 in overtime. Wayne then defeated Malcolm 39-20 in the third-place game to take home the bronze medals.

7th Grade Boys take 2nd In Pierce

Sunday, December 8th, the 7th grade WBDA boy’s team competed in a tournament in Pierce, NE.  Wayne was placed in a 4 team round-robin bracket.  The boys first played Columbus Lakeview followed by a game versus Creighton which both games ending with Wayne wins.  The third and final game was against GACC from West Point, NE.  The Wayne players competed hard taking GACC to overtime, but in the end Wayne lost and finished 2nd place in the tournament.  Congrats players and coaches on your 2nd Place Finish! #wayneyouthbasketball
