The 8th grade girls WBDA team took part in the Columbus Tournament February 6th and 7th. On Saturday, Wayne took down the Lincoln Timberwolves and then resumed play on Sunday with a victory over Columbus Scotus. Wayne then fell to the Columbus Swish in the final game of the weekend to finish 2-1 and with runner-up honors. Great job 8th graders!
The 8th Grade Girls WBDA team competed on Sunday, January 30th in the Blair Tournament. Wayne took down Fort Calhoun in their opening game, before falling in a tough contest to Blair to finish as runner-up in their division. Great job players and coaches!
The WBDA 5th grade girls basketball team brought home runner up honors playing in a 5th/6th combined division in David City on Jan. 29th. Wayne defeated David City Aquinas in the opener before falling in overtime to Cross County. Good job girls!
The 7th Grade Girls opened their WBDA season with a runner-up finish at the David City Aquinas Tournament. Wayne opened with a tough one point loss to Columbus Lakeview to open tournament play and then came back with a big win over Central City to finish 1-1 on the day and as tournament runner-up. Congratulations players and coaches!
The 6th Grade Girls WBDA team competed at the David City Aquinas tournament on Saturday. Wayne opened the tournament with a tough loss to Bishop Neumann but rebounded in the consolation game with a big win over Guardian Angels Central Catholic to bring home a bronze medal and a 1-1 finish on the day. Congratulations girls!
The 5th Grade Boys WBDA team took first place honors at the Monarch Classic in David City on Saturday. The Wayne boys defeated Twin River in the opening round before dispatching Battle Creek in the championship game to bring home the gold! Congratulations coaches and players!
The Wayne 6th grade girls WBDA basketball team finished runner-up at the Crofton Tournament on January 22. Wayne dropped a hard-fought opening-round game to Atkinson West Holt before reeling off back-to-back wins over Crofton and Hartington Cedar Catholic to finish 2-1 on the day and tournament runner-up. Congrats girls!

The 6th Grade Girls WBDA team competed at the Norfolk Catholic Tournament in January 8th and came away with a 3rd place finish and a 2-1 record on the day. The 6th graders opened the day with a win over Lutheran High Northeast before falling in the second game to O’Neill. Wayne rebounded with a 15 point victory in the third-place game over Norfolk Catholic to finish third in the six-team tournament.
