The 8th grade boys WBDA Basketball Team took runner-up honors at the Midwest Invitational Basketball Tournament in Lincoln on March 14-15. Competing in a six-team bracket which included Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer, Lincoln Sonics, Lincoln Misfits, SPL Truman and Sutton, Wayne went 2-0 in pool play, defeating HTRS 51-32 and the Lincoln Sonics 47-40.
Advancing to the championship game, a back-and-forth battle ensued which saw Sutton eventually come out on top by a score of 48-37. Wayne finishes 2-1 for the tournament for runner-up honors. Congratulations on a fantastic WBDA season and career boys!
