The 8th grade boys WBDA basketball team kicked off their club season with a 3rd place finish at the home Clash of the Plains Tournament in Wayne on Sunday, February 15, 2026. Wayne competed in a large, tough 12-team bracket. Wayne competed in Pool A and swept through pool play with a 44-39 win over Oakland-Craig and a 57-41 win against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder to advance to the semifinals against other pool winners.
In the semis, Wayne would fall in a tough contest to eventual champion West Point, 59-47. In the 3rd place game, Wayne took on the St. Mary’s Cardinals from O’Neill and came away with a 49-31 win to finish 3-1 on the day and earn the bronze medal. Congrats on a great start to your club season!
