The 7th Grade Boys WBDA basketball team competed at the NEN Tournament in Norfolk on Sunday, February 22nd. Wayne competed in a very balanced four-team, round-robin bracket along with Cedar Catholic, Norfolk and O’Neill.
Wayne opened the day with a 40-31 win over the Norfolk Panthers. The second game of the day saw Wayne fall in a tough contest to Cedar Catholic by a score of 41-34. The final game of the day saw Wayne take on O’Neill in a contest that was back and forth the entire way, which also saw Wayne erase a six-point deficit with under two minutes remaining to pull out a 29-28 win over the Eagles. A 2-1 finish on the day earned Wayne runner-up honors in the division. Congrats boys on a hard fought tournament.
